Crowne Plaza Reading East, Bespoke Bedding Designs

Brief:

The owners of Crowne Plaza Reading East, part of the IHG brand, initiated a complete refurbishment of the hotel.  They wanted  every detail to be designed to create a highly modern environment quite different from any other hotel in the Thames Valley area, making it one of the best places to stay in Reading.  Matthews Mee (Interior Design & Architecture) were given the brief to design a stunning interior.  They approached the Skopos Bespoke design team with a bright and striking mood board for inspiration.  The designers were asked to create an original geometric print using the mood board colours.

Outcome:

Skopos designers created a geometric diamond print design in golds, rusts and greens.  This  design was used to make a  statement across the bedrooms on throws and cushions.  A textured print design was also developed to work with the rust tones in the throws for scatter cushions. Skopos’ new wool-look wide-width collection Farne was used for the curtains. The scope within the colour pallet  enabled the designers to select a green to match the throw and cushions. Carina Ice sheers were chosen to finish the scheme.

The public areas and meeting rooms used an adaption of the geometric print finished off with a leading edge in an accent plain fabric Peru Atlantic.  As with the bedrooms, Carina Ice voiles were used to finish the windows.

Skopos were asked to provide full service including make-up and installation of curtains, sheers, bed throws and scatter cushions.

Our experienced fitters completed a full measure before installing curtains tracks in all bedrooms and public areas.
